Something meaningful you can do to help the victims of Katrina!

Hand In Paw, Inc.
Stuffed Animal Drive

We all know the devastation that hurricane Katrina left along the Gulf States. Many are donating food, clothing and water to those who are in need, and for those who were left homeless. These items are most appreciated. However, think of the littlest victims. The Children. They have nothing left, no toys, their favorite stuffed animals, dolls, etc. are gone. In past disasters or times of crisis it has been my observation of how important these stuffed animals are to the children affected. They provide comfort, softness, they provide a feeling of “safeness” to cuddle and hug, to fall asleep with, and to wake up knowing that it is still there. It is such a small contribution, but has a HUGE impact on the children. Just think of the little things that would make a child happy, Barbie’s, Baby dolls, teddy bears, toy trucks, board games… etc…

Please help me in collecting clean stuffed animals and games, toys, coloring books, crayons, etc.. to donate to these families with children in need. Hand In Paw has a group of volunteers who will deliver items to the local hotels and shelters in and around the Birmingham Area who are housing these refugees. We will personally hand these children the toys and stuffed animals. Let’s help these families feel welcomed and most definitely give them comfort and prayer!

Thank you for all of your support!
