About Sisterhood

Temple Emanu-El’s Sisterhood has been a huge supporter of the Temple’s programs and congregation for many, many years.  Our mission is to sponsor and support programs for the enrichment of women, children, and families of this Congregation.

In order to successfully fulfill our mission, we have two fundraising activities. These fundraising programs include the Temple’s gift shop – “Temple Traditions” and the annual tulip/daffodil/flower bulb sale.  The proceeds from these two projects along with membership dues help provide special programs for the Temple Tots, Religious School, Youth, and Congregation.

This year for Temple Tots we are funding the following programs that are part of their curriculum – the Dance Foundation, the Drum Circle, and the Music program.  For the teachers we are providing funds for CPR training.  Also, for parents who need a little extra help, we have some scholarships available.

This year for Religious School we are fully funding three new programs – the new Mitkadem Curriculum, the Artist in Residence program, and the teachers for the new Teen Track program.  In addition, we provide Confirmation Bibles for our 10th grade students and funding for the Jewish Holiday Celebrations for the entire student body.  We also provide funds for both Summer Camp & Religious School scholarships.

For our Youth, we provide the funds for the Youth Group Advisor, gifts for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students, and send goodie packages to our undergraduate college students through our Precious Legacy program at Chanukah and Passover.

For our Congregation we sponsor monthly Onegs or Dinners and provide special programming.  This programming includes social activities, educational opportunities, and the chance to participate in social action projects to help “repair our world”.
